A new Indiegogo project based out of Shenzen, China has promised to produce low-cost Desktop PC running on the latest Android-based Remix 2.0 OS. With a claim to be the cheapest 64-bit Android Desktop PC in the world, it comprises all the features of the Android OS run devices. It comes with a 2GHz 64-bit quad-core CPU along with Mali 450 MP5 GPS.
The Unuiga S905 comes with internal storage of 16GB and 1GB of RAM. It comes with HDMI 2.0 support and hardware 4K decoding, this helps you in turning your Television which accepts HMDI into the display for this PC. The tag which the company is giving is not completely sure of this being a Desktop PC as it needs a display, keyboard, and a mouse to make it a complete set.
With the option to use any HDMI accepting display for it, you can use your TV and if you are having a wireless keyboard and mouse well and good or else you need to shell out an extra Rs. 2000 as the company recommends Logitech K400 as a good pair for this compact PC. There was another device powered by Android-based Remix OS called Remix Mini android Desktop, which is a bit low powered than this little Desktop device.
The Unuiga S905 comes with 2 USB ports, an Ethernet port, HDMI port, AV socket and power socket. There is a higher variant of the device called the Unuiga S905+ which is a bit costlier than the regular variant having 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB RAM and 32GB of storage which seems to be a better option. This is something like the Raspberry Pi 3 which got launched recently which comes with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth as well and priced at $35.
The Unuiga S905 is priced at $30 which is approximately Rs. 2,000 and if you are one of the backers on Indiegogo you will be getting $25 approximately Rs. 1,600. The crowdfunding project has set a target of $75,000 which is approximately Rs. 50 lakh with 1 month as the target.
