As promised earlier, Xiaomi has finally announced the company’s latest budget offering Redmi 6 Pro in China. the highlight feature of device is its 5.84-inch (2280×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 19:9 display, AI powered dual camera, 4GB of RAM, and a 4,000 mAh battery running on MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo update. along with, the device the company has also announced the Mi Pad 4 Tab.
To quickly recall, the company earlier announced Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones and has finally launched the Pro version from ‘Redmi 6 series’ which succeeds the Redmi 5 Pro the Chinese smartphone maker last year offering.
The device bears a 5.84-inch (2280 × 1080p) Full HD+ display with aspect ratio of 19:9 and 2.5D curved glass protection, 500 nits brightness, and 84-percent NTSC Color Gamut. it is powered by an 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform paired with Adreno 506 GPU. the device is available in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variants. both, the variants will support storage expansion upto 256GB via MicroSD card. the device runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo update and is backed by an 4,000 mAh battery.
In the camera department, the device sports a dual rear camera setup powered by AI – a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 primary sensor with 1.25um pixel size, PDAF, F/2.2 aperture, and LED flash, paired with another 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 secondary sensor with 1.12um pixel size, and F/2.2 aperture for AI-powered Portrait shots. on the front, there’s an 5-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter with AI Portrait mode, AI scene detection, and HDR. the device supports facial recognition technology and comes with rear facing fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity option includes Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB with otg support, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. it measures at 149.33 × 71.68 × 8.75 mm and weighs at 178 grams. onboards sensor includes accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, and proximity sensor.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is priced at CNY 999 (approx. Rs.10,400 ) for the 3GB RAM / 32GB storage variant, CNY 1,199 (approx. Rs.12,500 ) for the 4GB RAM / 32GB storage variant and CNY 1,299 (approx. Rs.13,500 ) for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage variant. the device will go on sale in China starting from tomorrow, June 26 in Rose Gold, Gold, Blue, Black and Red colour options.
