Along with the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition smartphones, the company also launched Mi 8 SE smartphone today at its annual launch event. Just like the flagship Mi 8 devices, the Mi 8 SE also sports notch display. The device comes with the glass back body and sports rear-facing fingerprint sensor. Even though it comes with a notch display, there are thick bezels on the top and bottom.
The Mi 8 SE is the world’s first smartphone to come powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor. It is the first Snapdragon processor except the 800-series to come based on 10nm FinFET process. The device sports a 5.88-inch AMOLED display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ (2244 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It offers 60000:1 contrast ratio and supports Always-On display.
It comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of internal storage. On the rear, the Mi 8 SE sports 12MP primary sensor with 1.4um pixel size and f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with 1.12um pixel size and f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, there is a 20MP front-facing camera with 2.0um pixel size and soft LED flash. It is backed by a 3,120mAh non-removable battery and supports 18W Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The Mi 8 SE measures 147.28 x 73.09 x 7.5 mm and weighs 164 grams. The Mi 8 SE will be available in Bright Red, Bright Blue, Gold, and Dark Gray color options. Talking about the pricing, the Mi 8 SE with 4GB and 6GB of RAM is priced at 1799 Yuan and 1999 Yuan respectively.
