iPhone 17e Brings A19 Power with MagSafe Support

The new iPhone 17e keeps things affordable without cutting out the features people love about iPhones. You can get it in 256GB or 512GB, with prices starting at Rs 64,900.

Inside, it runs on the same A19 chip as the standard iPhone 17. So yes, Apple Intelligence is here too. The A19 packs plenty of power—six CPU cores, four GPU cores, and a 16-core Neural Engine, all built on a 3-nanometre process. Apple claims it’s twice as fast as the iPhone 11’s CPU, and the GPU now handles hardware-accelerated ray tracing. That means mobile games look and play better than ever.

Apple finally added MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging—now you get up to 15W charging speeds. The 17e also includes Apple’s new C1X modem, which doubles the speed of last year’s C1 modem in the iPhone 16e and uses 30% less power.

The main camera is a sharp 48-megapixel sensor. The display is a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED that gets bright (up to 1,200 nits HDR) and supports Dolby Vision. If you lose signal, the phone can switch to satellite connectivity, so you aren’t left stranded.

Design-wise, it’s got those modern, flat edges and an aerospace-grade aluminum frame. It’s tough too—IP68 rated against water and dust. The new Ceramic Shield 2 on the front is three times more scratch resistant and cuts down on glare.

Face ID handles security, and now there’s an Action button on the side. You can set it up for quick access to the torch or whatever tool you use most.

The camera system gives you an optical-quality 2x telephoto option, so you basically get two cameras in one. Shoot crisp photos at 48MP or stick to 24MP for smaller file sizes and easy sharing. Portrait mode is smarter now—it automatically grabs depth info when it spots people, dogs, or cats, so you can blur the background or shift focus after you’ve snapped the shot.

For video, you get 4K recording with Dolby Vision at up to 60fps, plus spatial audio and wind noise reduction. Machine learning helps clean up your sound, too.

The iPhone 17e runs iOS 26, which brings a fresh look Apple’s calling Liquid Glass. You get smarter Apple Intelligence features like live translation in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, plus on-screen visual tools that help you search or take action on whatever’s on your display.
