Trouble for lipsync and video-sharing platform TikTok had been brewing in India for some time now.
On April 16, things took a turn for the worse as Google and Apple took it down from their stores in the country to comply with a court order.
India is a crucial market for the Chinese app as around 40% of its 500 million users are in the country. The supreme court will again hear TikTok’s plea on April 22. Meanwhile, existing users can continue using the app, and new users can still download it off the internet.
